The group was founded in May 1994 for the "Fête de la Musique". The BUSHMEN met through " La Sauce ", an association which organised concerts. Since February 2000, the group has been made up of Charlie (drums), JP (bass guitar), Bruno (vocals), Fred (rythm guitar) and Pierre (lead guitar).

The band plays a kind of music which the press have problems in defining : Melodic punk rock ? Power pop ? Catchy punk pop ? POWERPUNKPOP is what could well summarize the present discord.

Comparison with other groups is also confused, whether they are french (Burning Heads, Seven Hate, Shaggy Hound, Six Pack, Thugs, ...) or anglo-saxons (Jawbreaker, Green Day, Meanies, Mega City 4, Samiam, Knapsack, ...). It's up to you to make up your own mind.

As the band is from Limousin (a rather " green " region !), the " BUSHMEN " seemed appropriate. But the BUSHMEN are also black south-africans and white australians. So try and figure it out !!!

The BUSHMEN have met several french groups like Burning Heads, The Thugs, Seven Hate, Sloy, Improvisators Dub… But also US and european bands (Jeff Dahl, Samiam, Half Japanese, NRA, Shades Apart, No Fun At All...) on the road.

The BUSHMEN have also taken part in some really cool Festivals : Lemoviskate (Limoges - 96 et 99), Gagarage III (Saint Etienne - 97), Printemps de Bourges (Découvertes Limousin - 97), Rock Festival (Fontenay Le Comte - 97), Rock sous les Etoiles (Saint Symphorien sur Coise - 98), Festival de Bambou (Sail sous Couzan - 98), Vulcaniques de Mars (Clermont-Ferrand - 99), Festival Rock (Tonnay-Charente - 99), Festival Bosment (99)… German Tour (October 98) including 2 dates with Burning Heads.
